About me.

I’m Hannah, a 30 year old writer and blogger living in the pretty seaside town of Eastbourne on England’s south coast, with my partner Matthew, my twin step sons, young daughter and a growing bump.

Not long before I found out I was pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago I over heard someone talking about cloth nappies. My ears pricked up, at first in dis-taste and then with intrigue. I researched it one sleepless night only to have my eyes opened…. Not just to nappies but to a whole new way of living. A more sustainable way…

And so with the help of my family and friends, a lot of reading, many a YouTube video and a serious amount of trial and error I have found a way to live our lives the best way we can while being sympathetic to our planet and the people in it. It’s the most important thing to me.

This has now stretched into minimalism, ideas on consumerism, and the whole world of sustainability. Hear me talk more about this on The Intentional Mum Podcast with Rebecca Hainsworth HERE.

My blogging history.

I studied Journalism at the University of Portsmouth which of course led me to start a blog. First on Fashion and then on to document my travels around South East Asia and Australia in 2012. What millennial gap year writing student doesn’t do that right?

I knew by then that my heart was in writing but not in the fast paced world of the news or magazines like I once thought it would be. I had an small insight then that you could make a career writing online but of course it seemed (which is true) that it needed hours, months, years of hard work to make it work. At the time I needed instant money to do more instant travelling, partying, making friends. Once I came home I needed to make a living, move into a place on my own and eventually buy a house with Mat. I fell into catering and it worked, I enjoyed it and it paid the bills. Writing became a side line hobby, one I almost forgot I could do.

Until I had my daughter and the goals, hopes and dreams of my past life were remembered. Something about having a child seems to bring out the creativity and ambition in you. And so over time, over naps, over night feeds this blog was born.

From sustainable nappies to eco cleaning, from wildlife friendly gardening to ethical shopping. I want this blog to be the handbook and the inspiration for you that I never had when embarking on a new ethical way of living. I hope it helps xxx
