Zero Waste Camping with Kids: Your Ultimate Camping Check List.

Packing for a camping holiday with kids can be stressful. I’ve found no matter how many list’s I’ve made in the past something is always forgotten. Actually this applies to any holiday we go on; Like that time we were driving to the Alps for a skiing holiday and Mat realised he forgotten his coat….

I’m know it’s not just us, we’ve all been there. From tooth brushes to swimming costumes something gets left behind. To tackle this I’ve come up with a system. A system to make your camping holidays as easy as possible and fool proof. A way that means you can have multiple trips a summer, weather it’s a two week long stay in your tent or a one night break. The reasons behind my camping essentials plan is all in Zero Waste Camping Hacks, which you might want to read to know why this method is for you and where you should be sourcing all your camping equipment.. To make it even easy for you I’ve made a printable list. A camping checklist you can take it away and work through putting together the ultimate camping box, in theory meaning you won’t have to pack for each individual trip. Actually, apart from your knickers and your socks you won’t have to pack a thing.

Everything you need in your ultimate packing free camping box.

Your going to need a big storage box for small items. The idea of the list is having everything on it packed in your box all year round. So when you make a spontaneous decision to head off for the weekend everything is packed and ready to go. Everything from you washing up bowl to your shampoo are packed not to be forgotten.

Camping Essentials.

  • Tent. Make sure you have spare tent pegs inside.

  • Mallet

  • Mattress.

  • Sleeping bags.

  • Fleece blankets. (These help on damp cold night.)

  • Lights. Torches and lights for inside the tent. Fairy light optional.)

  • Camping chairs or picnic blankets.

  • Fold-able table.

Kitchen equipment.

  • Camping kettle.

  • Frying pan.

  • Saucepan.

  • Cutlery.

  • Chopping knives.

  • Unbreakable cups, mugs and plates.

  • Bottle opener.

  • Tea bags and coffee.

  • Ketchup.

  • Washing up liquid and scrubbing brush.

  • Washing up bowl.

  • Tea towels.

  • Water bottles for refilling.

  • Cool Box and ice packs. (Remember to pop your ice packs in the freezer the night before.)

Toiletry Essentials.

  • Shampoo bar. (To be used as regular soap too.)

  • Condition bar.

  • Toothpaste or toothy tabs.

  • Tooth brushes for everyone.

  • Sun-cream.

  • Moisturiser.

  • Cloth Wipes.

  • Toilet Roll.

Now all you have to do it throw packed box, tent and chairs in the back of the car. Quickly throw the contents of your fridge in your cool box along with ice packs. Grab a bag for some clothes, nothing fancy needed just some warm socks for the evening and fresh pants, and your ready to hit the road.
